THE FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT

CSL announces its latest scientific and medical breakthroughs in a research

and development briefing today

Thurs 10 December - CSL, Australia’s leading biopharmaceutical company, will today announce its latest

medical and scientific research in a briefing in Sydney.

CSL will present its latest innovations specifically relating to heart disease and serious gum disease.

CSL will reveal a novel vaccine designed to treat gum disease, which they have been developing for over 10

years in collaboration with the CRC for Oral Health Science and University of Melbourne.

Approximately thirty per cent of Australians have peridontitis or gum disease caused by a bacterial

infection that destroys the bone and tissue of the gum, causing teeth to fall out. The problem is that many

patients do not know they have it until it is in advanced stages and requires treatment such as surgery.

CSL will also discuss its latest research into plasma and cholesterol, leading to innovative treatments for

cardiovascular disease.
