Acision Powers Sprint's Advanced Messaging Services as North America's Messaging
Traffic Looks set to hit Double-Digit Growth
PLANO, Feb. 16/ PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --
With global messaging traffic set to soar to record numbers in 2009 and
North American messaging looking likely to hit double-digit growth[i],
Sprint, one of North America's leading mobile operators, has deployed
Acision's advanced messaging infrastructure within its network. Acision's
messaging solution will ensure Sprint can give their customers what they want
the instant they want it, and it will also provide Sprint with the capability
to deliver superior messaging services to its customers, supporting Sprint's
quest to improve the handset experience and personalize support.
In 2008, to support this ongoing increase in messaging usage, Sprint
deployed an advanced next-generation messaging solution from Acision within
its network. This ensures Sprint customers always have a seamless service -
even during peak periods of messaging such as New Year's Eve or the
presidential inauguration.
Wayne Irwin, president, the Americas, Acision, stated, "In 2008, the
industry reached a milestone with over 2 trillion messaging transactions[ii]
taking place worldwide, far outperforming original expectations. We are
confident that in 2009 messaging will continue to dominate as a primary
communication tool and, like Sprint, it is vital that operators have the
infrastrucure in place to support this and provide the optimum customer
experience."
"In 2009, we will continue to work with operators in North America and
across the world to develop and deliver new capabilities and features that
will help retain subscribers and grow their existing user community. We have
been delighted to work with Sprint as they focus on delivering a superior
messaging experience to their customer base" said Irwin.
Acision works with operators across the globe to develop new
functionality that helps retain subscribers, grow their existing user
communities and increase revenues. This includes working with the operators
to personalize the messaging experience, adding functionality relevant to
specific consumer and enterprise segments, including services that have
proven effective in the online community, such as automated replies and
out-of-office.
