Office 2007 v4.01a, a new update for the suite of tools that enables users to introduce the
interface of Microsoft Office 2003 into Microsoft Office 2007.
When Office 2007 was released two years ago, it was a great update from Office 2003,
greatly improving its functions and interface. Unfortunately, some of the changes put off some
users who did not want to give up the "classic" menus. Office 2007's new design made some
users uncomfortable and caused them to waste a lot of time looking for new locations of often-
used menus and toolbars. Citing frustration with having to navigate the new interface, some
users simply stuck with Office 2003 rather than upgrade.
Classic Menu for Office 2007 v4.01a will bring back the familiar main menu and standard
toolbars of Office 2003. This software includes Classic Menu for Word, Excel, Access, Outlook
and PowerPoint 2007. All of the new features in Microsoft Office 2007 have been added to the
classic menus and toolbars. With this program, users need not change their habits and have to
learn a new interface for Office 2007. However, this software also allows users to turn the
classic menus on and off, switching between the two interfaces with ease. Switching between
the two will not modify any data and won't affect any of Office 2007's functions.
Keyboard shortcuts have also been added. With these, it is possible to browse toolbars and
menus without remembering shortcuts. Now users can just add "Q-Q" before the original
shortcuts and they will get the relevant menus. For example, by pressing "Alt-Q-Q," the "All"
menu displays. It's simple. No special skills are needed.
All languages available in Office 2007 are supported by Classic Menu for MS Office 2007
v4.01a, including English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese,
