DivX Launches DivX(R) 7 Software in Chinese

Enables Chinese consumers to create and play true DivX HD video anytime, anywhere
DivX, Inc. (NASDAQ: DIVX), a digital media company, today announced that
it has released its flagship video software, DivX 7 for Windows, in Chinese
for the China, Taiwan and Hong Kong markets. Now available at
Chinese language versions of DivX 7 for Windows allow Chinese consumers to
create and play high-quality DivX(R) videos and DivX Plus HD video including
high definition H.264/mkv files. DivX videos can be played on a range of DivX
Certified(R) consumer electronics devices, including Blu-ray disc players,
mobile phones, digital TVs or gaming consoles.
In just China alone there are over 250 million Internet users, more than
any other nation in the world. DivX's entry into the China market further
strengthens the DivX ecosystem by helping Chinese consumers take advantage of
over 100 million DivX Certified consumer electronic devices that have been
shipped into the marketplace, and to access billions of DivX videos available
on the Internet, including user-generated and premium Hollywood content.
DivX 7 for Windows is based on the cutting-edge H.264 video compression
standard, and enables the creation and playback of high-performance,
high-quality digital video at up to 1080p HD resolution. The added language
support extends the DivX digital video experience to Chinese consumers,
enabling them to create, play and share true high-definition H.264 videos.

DivX 7 for Windows enables DivX video playback and is available as a free
Windows is a paid version (valued at US $19.99, RMB149, HKD159, or TWD660)
that supports easy DivX video creation. DivX Player is included in both
versions and offers free playback of H.264 videos with the .mkv file
extension as well as MPEG4-ASP videos with the .avi, .divx file extension.
DivX Converter comes with DivX Pro and enables one-step conversion of most
digital videos into DivX Mobile, Home Theater, 720p HD, 1080p HD and the new
DivX Plus(TM) HD profile, which based on the .mkv container using H.264 video
with AAC audio.
To ensure that consumers will be able to enjoy these new DivX Plus HD
videos on any consumer electronics device, DivX has introduced its DivX Plus
HD Certification Program to device manufacturers in China, Hong Kong and
Taiwan. This certification enables the development of DivX Plus HD Certified
devices, which will support playback of DivX video and DivX Plus HD video
(H.264/mkv) whether created using DivX 7 software or third-party tools.
