Scalado Announces Expansion Into North America With new US Offices
LUND, Apr. 2 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --
announced that it is expanding its global operations with the establishment
of Scalado Inc., a new US division that will operate from offices based in
Silicon Valley and San Diego, California. The Company, which already has
operations in both Europe and Asia, has earned a worldwide reputation for
providing mobile imaging software solutions that are powerful, scalable and
modular for any camera phone.
Scalado's mission is to make imaging on mobile phones more efficient by
bringing higher usability for end-users, and by cutting hardware costs for
handset manufacturers who are increasingly having to compete with products
which can offer phone, email, camera, and music functions in a single device.
Its new US offices will provide easy access to a number of its key strategic
partners in this area, including companies such as Intel, Kodak, TI, and
MtekVision.
"The need for super-fast, powerful, memory-efficient image processing
software that can provide a positive user experience and rapid time to market
is greater than ever," says Fadi Abbas, General Manager, Scalado Inc. "This
solution has already gained the attention of many key figures in the
industry, and will therefore boost our market penetration as we continue to
cooperate with other major players in this market to deliver out-of-the-box
solutions to the entire imaging sector."
Scalado already lists the top five tier 1 mobile phone manufacturers as
its licensees, and has doubled both its revenue and its total number of staff
in the last year, thanks to its ongoing expansion in both Europe and Asia. By
adopting Scalado's technologies, manufacturers are drastically reducing
development and device costs and significantly shortening time to market. For
this reason, more than 300 million mobile phone handsets now feature Scalado
software.
Scalado is best-known for its CAPS(TM) imaging Software Development Kit
(SDK), an extremely CPU and memory efficient software solution that can
drastically decrease image processing times when capturing, viewing, and
editing large images.
Likewise, Scalado's SpeedTags enable photographers to instantly capture
multi-megapixel images without any shutter lag, freezing the moment of
capture.
The Company is also enjoying a greater influence in the sensor and ISP
sectors, thanks to a number of strategic partnerships with the leading
manufacturers in this area. These partnerships will also continue to play a
key role, with projects already underway with Aptina, MtekVision, and others.
