NRMA SAYS iCAN WITH AUSTRALIA'S FIRST iPHONE ROAD SERVICE APPLICATION

In an Australian motoring club first, NRMA Members can now get the NRMA to rescue them when they break down by requesting roadside assistance online directly from their iPhone.

NRMA Motoring & Services CEO Tony Stuart said the NRMA was the first motoring club in Australia to launch this kind of service which has a range of benefits for Members in need of roadside assistance.

"iPhone's are extremely popular right now so it makes sense to give our Members who own an iPhone the option of using the available technology to quickly and easily log their need for an NRMA Patrol," Mr Stuart said.

"It's all about more choice for Members in how they interact with us.

"Using the iPhone is also timelier as the call will be immediately logged in the system with no hold waiting time even during busy periods.

"And Members who are broken down on lonely stretches of highway won't have to worry about describing where they are as the iPhone application has GPS so we know where our Members are even when they don't."

Members can download the free NRMA application onto their iPhone by visiting the
iTunes Apps store. Once installed on the iPhone Members will be able to:

*Request roadside assistance

*Access the mynrma website

*Access NRMA's MotorServe car servicing website

*Search for an NRMA Approved Repairer

*Access the Thrifty car rental website

Mr Stuart said the NRMA was dedicated to providing the best possible service for its Members with the launch of the iPhone application just another step in this process.

"It's a great service to provide in the lead up to the busy holiday period," Mr Stuart said.
