Value Boost to Keep Telstra Pre-Paid Mobile Broadband Customers Connected

Customers using some of Telstra's most popular Pre-Paid Mobile Broadband plans will get extra value from tomorrow, with increased data allowances and a wider choice of recharge expiry periods.

Telstra Consumer Executive Director Rebekah O'Flaherty said the revised recharge allowances, costing $20, $30, $50 and $150, would further satisfy the nation's growing appetite for connecting wirelessly. The four revised allowances will offer customers data increases ranging from around 12% to 150%.

"Telstra Pre-Paid Mobile Broadband is a great choice for people who want to keep track of what they're spending month to month as there are no bills or fixed term contracts.

"Couple this with the speed and reliability of Telstra's Next G(TM) network the largest and fastest national mobile broadband network in Australia and you've got an attractive solution for customers at home and on the move," Ms O'Flaherty said.

Changes to Telstra's Pre-Paid Mobile Broadband recharge allowances include:

* Great recharge value Customers who recharge $30 will receive 700MB of data (up from 400MB), and Telstra's $150 option will more than double to 10GB (up from 4GB).

* Wider choice of expiry periods Extended recharge periods will apply on selected allowances: the new 4GB allowance can be used for 60 days and the 6GB allowance will offer 90 days of use before credit expires. The $20 recharge option will expire after 21 days however the data allowance will be boosted to 250MB.

* Bonus credit Customers will receive an additional bucket of credit which can be used to make standard national calls SMS.

* Ease of use Telstra will continue to offer great benefits such as no bills or fixed term contracts, plus easy access to balance, account and recharge history which can all be viewed from the customer's desktop.

The new recharge allowances coincide with the upcoming launch of Telstra's new Elite Pre-Paid Mobile Broadband Modem and Pre-Paid Mobile Wi-Fi on 26 October.

"Telstra's Elite Pre-Paid modem is the fastest 3G Pre-Paid mobile broadband modem in Australia. Additionally, our new mobile Wi-Fi option shares a Next G(TM) network connection with up to five devices simultaneously. And because they're Pre-Paid, there's no fixed term contract or monthly spend commitments," Ms O'Flaherty said.
