MEDIA RELEASE PR35084
Allot Launches MediaSwift: Monetizing Internet Video
BOSTON, June 23 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ -
- Solution Deployed by Tier 1 Broadband Provider Saves Approximately 40% of Traffic Costs and
Improves QoE
Allot Communications Ltd. (NASDAQ: ALLT), a leader in IP service
optimization and revenue generation solutions based on deep packet inspection
(DPI), announced today the launch of Allot MediaSwift, a revenue-generating
network and subscriber service designed to intelligently accelerate internet
content delivery (HTTP streamed video and P2P traffic) to broadband
subscribers. MediaSwift synergizes Allot's DPI and caching competences to
provide a unified intelligent media caching solution which delivers improved
quality of experience (QoE). MediaSwift is offered as an internal blade or as an external solution with Allot
Service Gateway. It is also offered as a solution with other Allot platforms.
MediaSwift has already been deployed at a Tier 1 operator in Asia, in
conjunction with both Allot Service Gateway and Allot NetEnforcer. Analysis
of the implementation to date shows an approximate saving of 40% in backhaul
and international traffic at the installed sites, as well as a significantly
enhanced subscriber experience for internet video and P2P traffic.
"Internet video is the fastest growing application on the web and is
already responsible for over 30% of global internet bandwidth. The challenge
this presents to service providers worldwide is how to prevent network
congestion, assure the subscriber's internet experience, and improve ARPU,"
commented Andrei Elefant, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management
at Allot Communications. "MediaSwift enables service providers to meet this
challenge with a precision tool that provides a win for both providers and
subscribers alike. It is another delivery on the Service Gateway promise to
provide an integrated approach to future service needs - same platform, new
services."
Allot Service Gateway Sigma (SG-Sigma) has 40Gbps of throughput and is
the only DPI-based Service Gateway platform designed to meet current and
future service provider requirements. It facilitates the fast and easy
introduction of new value-added network and subscriber services, including
MediaSwift, service tiering, quota management and self-management - services
designed to reduce network TCO, increase ARPU and enhance QoE for
subscribers.
Allot MediaSwift is currently commercially available.
