Future of Human-Computer Interaction and Gaming

 

First official public demonstration of mind-reading

technology allowing computer control via thoughts and

emotions by Australian company Emotiv


X|Media|Lab: Nam Do, CEO of Emotiv and one of Australia’s leading digital entrepreneurs, will

publically demonstrate for the first time in Australia his company’s ‘EPOC’ headset, which allows

wearers to interact with computers using thoughts and emotions. 


Mr Do will be speaking on the future of human-computer interaction and the shift from purely

‘conscious’ interactions to two-way, ‘unconscious’ engagements where computers read human

thoughts and feelings. The Emotiv headset creates new possibilities in areas including gaming

(users can move game objects with their thoughts), medicine and education, and Mr Do’s

appearance at X|Media|Lab is ahead of the December 21st

US release of the ‘EPOC’ (due for

Australian release next year).
