Trend Micro Internet Security Pro with Phoenix Freeze will roll out in early January 2010, initially in the U.S. and

in Japan, where Trend Micro is the dominant content security provider. The addition of Freeze as a recommended

complement to Trend Micro Internet Security Pro not only boosts PC security but also provides a significant

additional layer of security specifically for smartphones. Trend Micro Internet Security Pro includes a license for

Mobile Security, which protects smartphones against viruses, spam, data theft, service disruptions and other

malware attacks against Windows Mobile and Symbian(TM) OS based devices.

Freeze pairs a Bluetooth(R) mobile phone with the user's laptop so that the computer immediately locks

whenever the user walks away with their smartphone. When the user returns within a certain proximity (pre-defined

by the user) of their mobile computer, it automatically unlocks. This combination offers safety, security, and peace

of mind without the annoying effort required to constantly lock and unlock the PC with passwords or finger swipes.

Simplicity and ease-of-use are fundamental characteristics of both solutions.

"Cybercriminals are targeting consumers at an alarming rate, making daily online activities potentially dangerous.

Trend Micro provides simple, easy-to-use security that effectively protects consumers everywhere against online

crime and identity theft," said Carol Carpenter, vice president and general manager of the consumer and small

business unit at Trend Micro. "We extend our commitment to 'ubiquitous security' and recommend that consumers

take advantage of the extra layer of security Phoenix Freeze provides for their Bluetooth-enabled phones."

"Data protection and mobile PC theft deterrence are integral components of our PC 3.0(TM) strategy of providing

consumers with products and services that make using their PCs a more secure, user-friendly and reliable

experience," said Surendra Arora, vice president of business development at Phoenix Technologies. "Pairing

Phoenix's Freeze product with Trend Micro's Internet Security Pro, greatly expands the reach of our brand among

consumers. We're pleased to partner with Trend Micro in arming consumers with powerful Internet and PC security

solutions."
