Scalado SpeedTags(TM) Technology for Accelerated Image Capture and Management to
be Incorporated in Fujitsu Microelectronics' Products
LUND, Feb 5 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --
Fujitsu Microelectronics Limited has signed a contract with
Scalado to licence and integrate Scalado SpeedTags(TM) technology into future
mobile ISP (Image Signal Processor) which makes better image quality called
"Milbeaut(TM)" designs, featuring high megapixels. Scalado's technology will
be included in their ISP in order to help manage the larger files produced by
the high-resolution image sensors, thereby improving overall JPEG image
handling performance significantly. The ISP using the new technology will be
used in mobile devices, such as camera phones and PDAs as well as in digital
still cameras. Scalado products currently exist in more than 300 million
mobile devices.
"This is a very important deal which will undoubtedly lead to
superior performance and features, mainly in camera phones, increasing
Scalado's mobile market penetration and will also help introduce Scalado to
the digital still camera industry, where Fujitsu Microelectronics Limited has
a strong presence. It is significant that Scalado is the first
choice for still imaging from leading players throughout the entire imaging
value chain," says Fadi Abbas, Co-Founder and VP of Business Development and
Partnerships at Scalado. "The combination enables outstanding results,
including zero shutter lag, burst mode, astonishing auto panorama capturing,
and other refined features."
Implementation of SpeedTags into the camera chip will support
the use of Scalado's CAPS(TM) imaging suite, a powerful solution which is
focused on providing enhanced functionality to camera phones. As a result,
users can expect increased performance and data handling capabilities for
high resolution files that will dramatically improve the experience of
viewing images on a mobile device.
"With the benefits of Scalado's mobile imaging technologies,
Fujitsu Microelectronics Limited will be able to respond to some of the
critical challenges set by the constantly increasing resolution sizes and
megapixels of images," said Tom Miyake, General Manager of Imaging System
Solution Div from Fujitsu Microelectronics Limited. "Moreover we have
confidence that our ISP "Milbeut(TM)" will have a stronger presence in the camera
phones market and, together with Scalado, we are looking to take
the end-user experience to a new level in camera phones and other markets."
