Singapore Start-up Wins in Paris

SINGAPORE, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire-Asia-AsiaNet/ --

Gathering of world's leading ISPs and mobile operators at Broadband World Forum Europe announce

Singapore start-up Pechora Technologies' HomeCamera service as winner.

HomeCamera, a global Software-and-a-Service solution that provides an easy and affordable way for

Internet users worldwide to monitor their homes, families, and businesses won this year's prestigious IEC

InfoVision Innovation Award in the 'Content, Entertainment, Applications, and Services' Category announced

in Paris at the Broadband World Forum 2009. This is a significant achievement for a Singapore startup; not

only is Pechora Technologies the only company to have won from South East Asia, it's the only company of

this size in the winners rostrum, with other winners including mega-corporations like Motorola, Nokia Siemens

Networks, Ericsson, Fujitsu, and Huawei.

The Broadband World Forum is the telecommunications industry event for broadband, drawing thousands

of attendees and more than 100 operator companies from around the world. Also present at the forum were all

the top broadband vendors, including industry leaders such as the CEO of Ericsson, COO of Nokia Siemens

Networks, and SVP of Orange, among others. The Awards were presented live in front of hundreds of industry

professionals at the Broadband World Forum Europe 2009 at the CNIT La Defense in Paris last week.

"The IEC's InfoVision Awards give tribute to the top broadband technologies in deployment today. We're

pleased to recognize Pechora Technologies as a Winner for HomeCamera in the Content, Entertainment,

Applications, and Services category," commented IEC President John Janowiak.

Said Pechora Technologies' CEO Varun Arora, "We are delighted on two counts. First, both Singapore and

Pechora Technologies have punched way above our weight and shown that Internet innovation doesn't come

just from Silicon Valley. And second, for the recognition the industry has given to HomeCamera, a service

which is now in use in over 180 countries."

About HomeCamera: HomeCamera enables Internet users worldwide to easily and affordably watch over

their children, their homes, their businesses and their property, using the cheap off-the-shelf webcams that

they already own. The service makes the process simple enough that even non-technical users find it easy

and straight-forward. Currently in free public beta, HomeCamera has been recommended by leading opinion

influencers around the world including The San Francisco Chronicle, The New Zealand Herald, PC World,
